Can anyone give a definitive answer to the following questions, as I am told different things
1) do the bottom 2 definitely go down? OR 2) does the 2nd bottom team go into a 'pot' with the other 2nd bottom teams at our level, and some of the best ppg teams survive the cut (hope that makes sense!)
NEXT SEASON
1) how many teams will be in the division? 2) how many get relegated?

Definitely a 22 team league with 4 down next season (unless Marlow have other ideas I guess).
It is supposed to be two teams down per step 4 division this season but as it stands two teams finishing one from bottom at step 4 will be reprieved due to withdrawals elsewhere (East Thurrock, Nuneaton etc). The two teams who get these reprieves will be the two teams finishing one from bottom with the best points per game over the course of the season.
As it stands with our division being so competitive whoever finishes one from bottom is in line to receive a reprieve. It is therefore likely that only the bottom team in our division will go down but I wouldn’t want to bank on it!
What is frustrating is that in every step 4 division but ours being the 18th best team will be enough to secure a place at step 4 next season whereas in our division being the 18th best team could very well see you relegated.

Ultimately if you are in the bottom two of any division then you deserve to go down. Six points over the next week and we can all breathe a bit easier!

Agreed, you definitely deserve to go down as long as you're not called Aylesbury United!
Our next four games are the ultimate example of 'season defining' games.

Nothing, but their appeal to the FA last summer is the reason why our league and their league are lopsided this season.

Have just read this morning that Brett Donnelly has left Stotfold for Hitchin Town. Stotfold aren’t too far ahead of the sides at the bottom and could easily get sucked into it if there is some turmoil there.

Good move for Brett, he's done an amazing job at Stotfold. There'll be plenty of managers interested in the Stotfold job as they're a good club.

Dan West seems a pretty strange signing but can only make us stronger in the final run in. Interestingly the article on the website states he signed from North Leigh but looks like a dual registration from Risborough Rangers.

Am going have to remind myself to cheer, n not jeer, him on Monday!!

I have no idea what the arrangement is for when us and Risborough are playing at the same time. I guess we’ll find out on Monday.
I think having got to 35 points with 7 games left and having added Max and Dan to the squad getting to a PPG of 1.00 and breaking the magic 40 point mark ‘should’ be relatively straightforward given recent performances.
When we sign a player we’ve given a bit of stick in the past it’s always worth remembering that it’s only the good opposition players that get such stick!

Absolutely, I hope he’s available for as many of our final 7 games as possible.
