Today was a tough one to take. I would have thought that it would have been a straight forward 3 points going on form but Thame just wanted it more on the day and just had more desire. We had some good moments but seemed to just lose interest and sit back once we had gone ahead. Thought their number 8 was head and shoulders over everyone else. He's on loan from Oxford City- so I guess that makes sense. I think we could have won if Ken had scored at the end of the first half too- so it was an opportunity missed. Onto the next one. COYD!

Poor game that neither team really did enough to deserve to win. Can’t recall either keeper making a meaningful save.
Frustrating that their soft winner came from down our right flank after we took Keegan off who had probably been our best player - obviously can’t say they wouldn’t have scored had he stayed on
Need to avoid defeat in next two games, two more losses could see us looking nervously over our shoulder again. Think we’ll be fine but need to offer a bit more as an attacking unit through the middle
Agree ref their number 8. If he could pass as well as he dribbled and found space, he definitely wouldn’t be playing at this level

Simply not good enough. Jefferson (a 45 year old centre forward playing as a makeshift centre half and playing his second game in three days) and number 5 will not have an easier afternoon all season.
If I was offered draws at Kidlington and Kempston now I’d take them.
Very disappointed this evening. Today was a great chance to make the last few weeks of the season a lot more comfortable than it looks like they will be.

Absolute rubbish. We had some good chances but we seem to have a huge problem with mentality and being up for these types of games when the going gets tough. Big week for us and based on today I can see us losing the next two.

Losing the next two would be too straightforward and this club doesn’t do straightforward!

Is our manager asleep during the game? The substitutions today were beyond belief. I get there isn’t much to bring on but see that game out for a point and we are probably safe. Instead he shuffled everything around and cost us any attacking momentum. The bloke is clueless I am afraid.

Agree, Charley was having a solid game on the left, gets moved to the right and gets completely skinned for the winning goal.

another 'not lose' game where we just capitulated. We looked like a team that was bottom and was playing their 2nd game in 48 hours.
Said going in ' well at least they can't be as bad as they were New Years Day' , but ,bloody hell, did they try and prove me wrong. Didn't have the necessary desire and bottle. Won't be getting many of the bumper crowd to return on that peformance. Unacceptable

Tactically inept , taking players off after being booked I can sort of understand but these players shouldn't be getting involved in silly fouls on the halfway line then giving 'backchat' . . We have no playmaker in our squad , how many times have AUFC had big matches with bigger crowds and let the fans down . Countless!

Gutted of all the games to play that poorly in front of a decent crowd is so disappointing. Certainly need a quick kick up the backside before the next game otherwise we will get dragged down into a dogfight. Supporting the ducks is such hard work!

It was also one of the worst refereeing performances we have had this season. I hate to criticise officials as it’s a thankless task but he set his stall out when their number 8 fouled and shoved Tuttle in the first few minutes and he didn’t get his card out. Catalogue of bad decisions after that.
Agree re the comments of the tactical shift around that cost us. With his subs sometimes it feels like the interim manager is watching a different game to the rest of us. If it’s obvious to us it must be to the players!?

On a positive note Kempston are six points behind us and only have four games left to play. Two wins should see us ok and we know we’re capable of winning games despite today’s s*it show.

Losing the next two would be too straightforward and this club doesn’t do straightforward! I agree the team will be inconsistent because that is what football is at this level. They know what the reaction of the supporters would be. Thame had too much to prove after their performance last Sat, against Ware. I suspect Ben Williams used that as motivation today. We will find the "music" again. I have faith in everyone connected with the men's team. On to the next game. In regard to the ref, he calls it as he sees it and thank him for doing his job as best he can. Remember players , referees and line all make mistakes so just accept it.

I completely agree with you Lee. I came to watch the game yesterday and yes it was poor but to read some of the comments I am makes me wonder what people really see, The new manager has come in under really really difficult circumstances, had the teams below won their games in hand we would’ve been bottom of the table, he’s taken us on a unbeaten run the whole of March against some top teams, but we lose one in the last 6 to 7 games and he gets hammered. We are such a reactional fan base, it’s unbelievable and some of the people coming and commenting in here right now have not been congratulating or commenting in here when we have been winning or playing well the last six weeks. If any of you was listening at the game yesterday in terms of the substitutions David Lynn shouted over to Tuttle and said take me off or I’m going to get sent off so that was already one change that was forced and by the way from a senior player that is disgraceful given the position the club are in! The next sub Keegan he went down in the warmup. I only know this as I was early enough to be there to see this . He said to the assistant manager I’m not sure of his name. Yes I’m okay to continue as the game went on, You could see he was struggling a little bit and even said as he came off. Yes I was starting to struggle. Jake Bewley he came on for Derek as Derek was on a booking, and he is a very sluggish player, which in my eyes was a smart move to take him off, because I feel as though he’d been sent off, so there’s three substitutions that were basically forced, but you’re saying he hasn’t got a clue. The reshuffling, max can play in midfield and the attacking output wasn’t worse as we finished the game with playing 4-2-4 Woody said in the bar after he should have come across for the 2nd goal and he actually got there and stopped and he took responsibility for it. For me the back 4 gets heavily cristised and I thought they was good yesterday despite the result, Tuttle jr he was solid yesterday the number 8 didn’t go past him. Keegan the same with the other winger and the 2 Cbs in the 2nd half standard from them, but we seem to get on certain individuals backs a lot easier and quicker than others? I feel it’s very very harsh on Tuttle, he’s lost three games in 10, He has beaten Hadley who have not lost the game since they’ve played us. He’s beaten Walton Abbey who have not lost a game since they played us. He has beaten Bedford town top of the table. The games he has lost. Biggleswade town where again we was let down by the players David Lynn was sent off whilst we was one up Cirencester, who are in and around the play-offs and yes a poor result yesterday but give the guy some credit because he’s come in and he has turned it around in a short space of time. I believe six more points keeps us up I believe we do that in the next couple of games, but if we don’t, don’t get on the players backs don’t get on the managers back at the end of the day, There’s only one person to blame we’re in this situation and he’s no longer at the football club, so we have to pull together to support the players and the management if we are to get through this season and continue playing at this level. I would also like to add yesterday’s loss for me, wasn’t on the management that game yesterday was about a team who wanted it more, so it comes down to the individuals of the sides and for me the game was lost in midfield our midfield three are not fit enough David Pearce was poor yesterday and didn’t offer us anything their midfield three wanted it more than our midfield three, but like I say, I believe it’s a blip and we go again on Thursday. Let’s get as many as of us as we can down there and back the players and I believe we will get a positive result and if we don’t, we continue to support the team no matter what! COYD

COYD You do know wells left over 10 weeks ago right? You don’t have to be a wells fan or even a Tuttle one to call it as it is. We have no identity under Tuttle, I appreciate he came in under somewhat difficult circumstances and his main objective was to stop the very leaky defence, which to his credit, he’s done, however, I look at us yesterday and think what information is he giving? Nobody seems to know what todo when we have the ball, only one person can take responsibility for that. All our creative players look a shadow of themselves when we just bash it up field and don’t get them on the ball. Blaming wells when he left over 10 weeks ago sums a lot of us up, he left us 9 points clear over Kempston having meant to be in charge that evening, I saw a post with someone saying these are wells’ players but another said Tuttle has been brilliant with them, now we lose and it’s wells fault again. Balance the argument, wells also beat North Leigh (not full of kids), Waltham, drew with Bedford, beat Ware, did the double over Dunstable (who may I add are now joint top). Ben tactically got everything bang on yesterday, and although I don’t necessarily think they were better than us, it does worry me how we can’t get players up for such big games, to many in there for me who just go about their business, with little umpth. Riddick in there for us yesterday would have made a huge difference.
