Not often you can celebrate the virtual survival from relegation of both your clubs on the same day.
Have posted about the off field success, and only fair to start a thread about today's on field success
Safe to say it was the best performance of the season imho - committed, disciplined and some really good football played at times. After we weathered the first 10 minutes, we were more than a match for an excellent Ware side, and if Ken still had his early season confidence we would've won.
Feel sorry for ken, his confidence seems to be shot, but he still keeps putting himself about, helping the team and getting himself into positions, even though he's badly outnumbered.
Apart from that they were outstanding to a man. James (who I had the pleasure to meet in Long Crendon tonight; thank you to you and your family for spending so much time taking to some random bloke!) was as safe as houses, as was Jack & Derek, who seemed to use his body and legs to intercept so much. Jake was outstanding an Max was different level. Very strong and clam and he's got a leap like a salmon. beadle and Cove seemed to revel in the chance to raise their level, whilst Lynn & pearce buzzed around, kept things calm and steadied the ship, and Kwai had his best game since his sensational debut.
As James said we now have a bit of depth and cover, shown by the fact that we didn't miss one of our best players in Braydon
Hope Tuttle gets the job, I'd be seriously worried if he didn't! Is the polar opposite to his volcanic predecessor and we are much better for it. Much better organised, much happier and never look likely to concede as many easy goals as we used to, plus the team spirit is obviously hugely improved.
A nice point at Biggleswade/Bedford on Tuesday and it's mission officially acclompished.
