Been a while since I’ve posted on here, hope everyone is enjoying the off season! Not long until we go again, and looking at the fixtures we have for pre season, I’m quite excited!
Another thing I’ve noticed a lot of teams are announcing signings, but no forms are actually out to be signed? Surely it could alert another team? They offer them a bit more and they can just go over to them? Any how I’m liking the under the radar approach it seems DT is doing, and I’m excited to see the squad that he’s putting together for the Wycombe game!

Berko seem to be reassembling the side they went up with two seasons ago. The same bunch of players that went up with Biggleswade last season! Can they do it three in a row?! Agreed that I think our approach to it is best. It was a bit embarrassing last season when we put out a retained list and half of them didn’t go on to sign. Hopefully lots of good business is being done behind closed doors.

You have to question the mentality of a player who’s happy to win the same league over and over (unless it’s a top division). I guess easy money ranks above the challenge of a higher level in some cases.
In our case, and quite correctly, no signings will be announced until the ink’s dry on their league registration form.

Nobody mentioning the elephant in the room of a JUNE preseason friendly?! 😆
Assumed the league kicked off early this year when I saw that, but apparently not.

Certainly a mind blower for us traditionalists!
Training started last week so we should be in some sort of shape come the 28th.

Does seem that more and more teams are back in training already, trials being advertised etc but I'd always been lead to understand that friendlies in June were vetoed by the Football community generally, allowing all a well deserved break, for pitch remedials etc. Maybe a relaxation of this? Guess as long as all parties are comfortable with it and its not taking advantage of volunteers' goodwill no harm done.
I see the Banbury friendly isn't going to be at Banbury, an ideas where else it could be played?

With some Step 5 leagues starting at the end of July so that teams get a league game in before the FA Cup starts I expect the no games in June rule will have to be amended sooner rather than later.

Anyone else feel it would be good to hear from the manager on how things are going given the season ended 6 weeks ago and friendlies are due to start in a fortnight’s time?
Not expecting to hear about signings if forms are incomplete etc but something to get us all looking forwards would be welcome.

Agree it would be nice to know what the managers predictions are and how confident he is,hopefully key players have stayed, also be nice if board gave an update on the move back to Aylesbury, they did say the last time there was a faster option back to town so keen to know what that is

A revised pre-season schedule is on the website for those that haven’t seen it.
Banbury and Dynamos both running scared of the Mighty Green ‘Uns 😂

Due to clubs/managers change of focus and how players should be paid regardless of ability, the following players have departed.
Lynn Feyi D Feyi K Cove Beadle Pearce Braydon back to ox city Max back to America
Others id image will soon follow.
Fans will be happy to know hopwood will soon be back though (providing he’s happy getting a lot less than previously on) also imagine French and co will soon return, congratulations on entering back into 2020. Best of luck to those genuine fans and the club for next season. Hard work in creating a young exciting future with talented young players officially dismantled.

It was always going to be a big change of the summer but interested what you are digging at around the ‘change of focus’ on how players are being paid?

Any player that doesn’t want to play for this great club anymore goes with my thanks and best wishes. It’s a short career and it’s important that a player is happy where they play as they’re all one bad tackle away from it all being over.
Any player that wants to join / rejoin our great club and is willing to give their best whilst here also gets my thanks and best wishes.
In all honesty last season’s squad only secured its step 4 place on the final day so it’s not as if a title winning squad is being dismantled. The current manager is the manager until he isn’t and it’s important he’s allowed to manage as he sees fit whilst it’s his job to do so.
