Jack Hopwood has announced on Twitter that he's not part of the managers plans for next season and will be leaving the club.
Will be very interested to hear the justification for that if true, Hoppy has been the best keeper we've had for a while and single handedly won us a number of points last season.
Disappointed, but trying to trust the process.

It’s a bold move from the management team. Time will tell if it’s a good decision or not!

Total lack of class from the Manager, which didn’t surprise me in the least. He has already shown on numerous occasions a complete lack of tactical knowledge but insists he needs the trust of his players , normally this is something that you earn along the way by showing you know what you are doing, not just “talking the talk” which he is very good at! Good luck to the Club next season as there are some knowledgeable football people who have the Clubs best interests at heart although I feel they have backed the Wrong horse this time.

Whilst I wasn't sure Jack would be at the club next season due to logistics as much as anything, if he's happy to stay and commit and is affordable this is a brave call by the manager.
It's either personal, though would like to think not, but hopefully just that a potentially better keeper is lined up as hard as that is to consider possible for us.

unbelievable. Best keeper we've had in years.
The reaction of quality former players , plus ex coaches, etc on twitter tells you all you need to know

What does it tell us? It tells us that we are very much a club run by its manager rather than by committee / message board which should be the case at all clubs.
Do I agree with the decision to change goalkeepers? On the basis of what Hoppy has done for the club over his two spells with us probably not but I’m willing to trust our manager to manage. The manager himself will appreciate the enormity of his decision and will also appreciate that if the decision doesn’t pay off then the usual consequences managers suffer in football will apply.
My advice to anyone upset at the decision is to wait and see who’s between the sticks come August 5th. It was only a few weeks ago people were applauding the manager for keeping us up so to turn on him on the basis of one controversial decision is unfair. I can’t say I’ll be as charitable if we’re struggling in the league at Halloween but that’s football.

Just a possible scenario - he gives the no 1 jersey to the young lad (who has looked confident & competent the couple of times I've seen him) and is able to then use the money saved to strengthen the team in other positions. Wells was a keeper, so you'd hope it's the 1 area of the park where he does know what he's talking about.
Whatever happens, I'm already feeling a bit sorry for the new keeper!
